Arctic Core AUTOSAR roadmap

Wednesday, 23 September, 2009

We are pleased to now being able to publish the roadmap for the continued development of Arctic Core – the embedded platform supporting the AUTOSAR standard. We hope that the roadmap will give the open source community a clear view of how we believe Arctic Core should evolve and also find ways for the community to participate. Go to the Arctic Core AUTOSAR roadmap.

The roadmap summarizes the feed-back we have received from all of you that have shown interest during the first two weeks. Thank you all for your valuable contribution to this work! Having this said we hope that the discussions continue and we ask you to continue send us your view. Use the forum or send us an e-mail.

Next step for us will be to finalize the roadmap for Arctic Studio. We will be able to show – at Baden-Baden – the first beta-version of our commercial plug-ins to Arctic Studio – offering an even more efficient development environment for AUTOSAR development.

Meet us at “Electronic Systems for Vehicles” in Baden-Baden

Thursday, 17 September, 2009

The ArcCore-team will be at the the 14th International VDI Congress “Electronic Systems for Vehicles” in Baden-Baden, Germany on October, 7th and 8th 2009. Take the opportunity to meet us and discuss the development plans for Arctic Core and the open source community.

It will also be an opportunity for you to see the first versions of our AUTOSAR tools set for editing, validation and generation of configuration of Arctic Core BSW modules. A tools set that will be available as plugins to Arctic Studio and will make AUTOSAR development faster and easier.

More information about where to find us will be available soon.

A successful first week

Wednesday, 16 September, 2009

We are pleased to see more than 1200 visits at the ArcCore site during the first week and nearly 200 downloads of Arctic Core and Arctic Studio. That’s even more than we hoped! Thank you all for showing your interest and your support. Continue to post questions and comments about AUTOSAR technology, Arctic Core and Arctic Studio in our forum – we will do our best to support you!

As we have received many questions about the development plans for Arctic Core and Arctic Studio, we have decided to prepare and publish our roadmaps. To start, we will set up the roadmap for Arctic Core and we invite the community to send us feed-back and contributions. We expect the plan to be ready next week.

The up-coming week we also plan to release the Beta-version of the ARM Cortex-M3 port of Arctic Core. We are happy to be able to support users of Arctic Core that have shown interest in this. More about this later on.

The Arctic Core community is growing

Friday, 11 September, 2009

We are very happy to see the great world-wide interest in Arctic Core and Arctic Studio! We now hope that the community will continue to steadily grow to form the active pool of resources that can be seen in other open source projects.

Unfortunately some people have reported problems accessing our server from behind proxy servers and we are working on solutions for this kind of problems. Please take a look in our forum for solutions and please let us know if you still have problems.

We are also happy about the beginnings of discussions about general AUTOSAR technology and methodology in the forum. We will do our best in helping people entering this domain. In this spirit we would also like to refer people to the AUTOSAR specifications at http://www.autosar.org/. If you are new to AUTOSAR a good place for an overview could be the Autosar Tutorial.

A successful launch of Arctic Core and Arctic Studio

Thursday, 10 September, 2009

Yesterday www.arccore.com – including the first open source embedded AUTOSAR platform Arctic Core and the tools set Arctic Studio – was launched at an early morning event visited by 40 embedded specialists from more than 15 companies. Thank You all for Your support to the ArcCore initiative!

The ArcCore team is really happy to have noted nearly 100 downloads of Arctic Core during the first 24 hours of www.arccore.com being public. This makes our commitment to the community even stronger och we hope that You all feel the same! Yesterday we also invited the community to a project focusing on the development of AUTOSAR diagnostic services for Arctic Core. Visit our forum and take active part of the on-going development!

We have posted some pictures from our early-morning event at http://arccore.com/090909

The launch of Arctic Core and Arctic Studio

Wednesday, 9 September, 2009

The time has come for a new era for the automotive and embedded systems industry. On 090909 09:09, arccore.com was released with two new products. Arctic Core, the open source embedded platform based on the AUTOSAR standard, and Arctic Studio, the tools set for efficient development of AUTOSAR solutions.

A new community for embedded developing has also been launched. Together with an active community the open source package will bring efficient development, reducing the work and money needed.

The Arctic Studio tool set brings efficiency and quality to the development of complete embedded solutions. The tool set is available as free download and AUTOSAR specific tools will soon be released as commercial plugins to the eclipse-based suit.

After a lot of work on Arctic Core, Arctic Studio and the website, the team is happy to finally have launched the project!
