BSW Builder 2.4 released

Tuesday, 31 August, 2010

The ArcCore team today released a new version of BSW Builder – the commercial BSW configuration tool for the AUTOSAR based automotive embedded platform Arctic Core. The new release includes further improvement, is based on Arctic Studio 1.3 and is tailored to support Arctic Core v2.4.

BSW Builder 2.4 includes the following major enhancements and improvements:

  • System template objects are automatically published to make configuration of ECUs even easier:
    • The COM module creates a system signal for each configured COM signal
    • The IO Hardware Abstraction module creates an ECU Abstraction Component with ports for use with the DIO driver.
    • The DEM modules creates a ServiceComponentType with ports for use with the configured DEM events.
  • New “New configuration” wizard.
  • Is based on Artop 2.1
  • Fully prepared for integration to ArcCore up-coming new products RTE Builder and SWC Builder.

More about what is new in BSW Builder 2.4 can be found here. We recommend all users to upgrade to latest versions of Arctic Studio and BSW Builder.

BSW Builder 2.4 is available as a commercial plug-in to the Arctic Studio embedded development environment. Time limited trial licenses for quick and easy evaluation can be requested here.

Arctic Studio 1.3 now released

Monday, 30 August, 2010

A new version of Arctic Studio, the complete IDE for efficient and easy embedded development of  AUTOSAR systems based on the open source embedded platform Arctic Core is today released.

The new release, Arctic Studio 1.3, is built on Eclipse Helios (3.6.0) and is now completely self contained. No installers or any other interaction with the operating system is required. Just unzip to install. This means that:

  • Mercurial is now distributed within Arctic Studio.
  • MSYS is now distributed within Core Builder which is a part of Arctic Studio.

Arctic Studio 1.3 includes Core Builder 2.0 where:

  • MSYS replaces Cygwin as build environment for Windows.
  • Support for different architectures are now installed from within Arctic Studio as separate Core Builders. Each Core Builder contains toolchains and compilers. The following Core Builders are available today; Core Builder for PowerPC and Core Builder for HCS12

More information about Arctic Studio 1.3 can be found here and more information about Core Builder 2.0 can be found here.
